Dear fellow Hiking Buddies,

Are you looking for a spontaneous hike close to Zurich? Then look no further and join my friend and myself on this short and lovely hike from Sihlwald to Felsenegg via the Albishorn (with potential extension to Uetliberg if the group is up for it).

Meeting point and time

Starting point of the hike is the train station "Sihlwald, Bahnhof" (Starting Point) at 10:00. This will allow for the following connection per public transport:


Please note that this is no roundtrip. Hence, I would not recommend coming by car. But if you have to, there are a few parking spots at the trainstation.

Difficulty

T2 (Detailed descriptions of the hiking grades can be found here: Hiking Grades)

Equipment

  • Hiking shoes and hiking poles (the latter is not really required)
  • Clothing suitable for the weather (several layers, rain jacket, spare clothes, etc.)
  • Sun protection (caps, sunscreen, etc.) in case of sunny weather
  • Your hiking snacks of choice and water (there are two restaurants along the way - let's see spontaneously whether we want to go for a lunch break on Albishorn or at Felsenegg)

Pace

Medium pace at around 400m/h.
