Join us for an exclusive community event in the heart of Munich! We’re teaming up with Jack Wolfskin for a day of movement, gear testing, and social vibes. This isn’t a competition—it’s a relaxed community hike designed to connect our most active members with premium gear and great company.

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
Meeting Time: 10:30 AM
Location: Jack Wolfskin Store, Munich (Check-in & Welcome)
Route: A scenic group hike to Olympiaberg, returning via public transport.
End Time: Approximately 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
✨ The Highlights
Fuel Up: Kick off the morning with a professional barista setup and snacks in-store. We’ll also provide prepared lunch boxes (sponsored by Buah) for the trail.
Test the Gear: Want to try before you buy? We have 30 Jack Wolfskin backpacks available for members to borrow during the hike (first-come, first-served).
The Ultimate Reward: Every participant who completes the hike will receive a free pair of Wild Hike Shoes (limited to the first 50 sign-ups)!
After-Party: Head back to the store for a post-hike hangout with music, snacks, and an exclusive 20% discount for any in-store shopping.
✅ Participation Criteria
To ensure this gear reaches our active community members and that we have an accurate headcount for custom orders, the following requirements apply:
Active Hiker Status: You must have completed a minimum of 5 hikes within the last year at the time of joining this event.
Identification: Please ensure the First Name on your Hiking Buddies profile matches your official ID. You must bring your ID to the event to verify your registration and collect your gear/goodies.
🎒 What You Need to Know
Gear Testing: To borrow a backpack, you will need to leave your ID at the store as a deposit. You can securely leave your personal bag and belongings at the store while we hike.
What to Bring: Bring your own bag for snacks/lunch if you aren't testing a backpack, and remember your public transport ticket for the return trip!
Photography: We will be filming and taking photos for social media. By registering, you agree to be photographed and filmed.

Confirm Your Availability: Please read the description carefully and only sign up if you are 100% sure you can take part.
Submit Your Shoe Size: You must send your shoe size directly to me via contact form by Wednesday next week to ensure your order arrives in time for the event.

Hey! I get that it feels restrictive, but I view this event as a 'Loyalty Edition' hike to reward those who have been very active in the group lately. It was a tough call to make, but it’s the only way we could manage the high demand for this specific event. Stick with us for a few more hikes and you’ll be eligible for the next big one! 🙌

When I joined, there was no Info that I need to submit something. also I didnt receive an E-Mail asking for the Shoe size. now out of nowhere I am BLOCKED for not doing something that I wasn't even aware I was supposed to do. really disappointing and not really the mindset I appreciate

I get your point about having criteria in place, and I fully support keeping things fair for everyone! That said, from my perspective the communication wasn’t as clear as it could have been. I didn’t receive any direct request for my shoe size, and I later noticed that others were individually prompted in the comments, my name wasn’t among them. I was just suddenly blocked with no chance on being put on the waiting list.
So from where I stand, being blocked felt quite sudden and a bit disproportionate to the situation. I would have happily provided the info if I had been aware or directly asked.
No hard feelings on my end, I’ll leave it here, however I did want to share that the process didn’t feel entirely fair from my side.

Thanks for the feedback. I want to be transparent about the process: I’m managing over 50 participants for this event, and it’s simply not possible for me to send individual reminders to everyone when the requirement was clearly stated in the description from the start.
The few people you saw me tagging in the comments were actually those I was trying to help at the very last second before they were removed. Everyone else who didn't provide their info has also been removed from the list to make room for people who are ready to go. I do have to rely on a bit of 'common sense' and members reading the event details thoroughly so I can focus on the logistics of the hike itself.

Hi Ahmed,
I understand managing 50+ people isn’t trivial. At the same time, that’s usually exactly the point where communication needs to be structured in a way that doesn’t rely on assumptions like “common sense” or visibility in comment threads.
If people who are willing to participate miss a key requirement, it typically says more about how the process is set up than about the individuals.
In my case, I simply didn’t have the information in a way that made it actionable.
Anyway, I’ll leave it here and wish you a great hike. I wont respond to any further comments and wish you good luck with further organization & communication

Just came across this ridiculous discussion by coincidence. Natalie, if it worked out for 50 people and not for you, the problem is definitely not about the communication / process, but about you not being able to follow / read instructions. Amit did more than he should have by trying to help via comments. What if that was a T6 hike and you don't read it's actually T6 and that you're a beginner? You'll tell Rega you didn't have actionable information? Well deserved kick, I'd say. Cheers!

Julien, this topic concerned you exactly zero, so there was little to no need to involve yourself so publicly. Feel free to drop me a message if you genuinely want to discuss this on eye level ;)
My point was about fairness in communication and organization, and comparing this event to a T6 hike is, respectfully, slightly ridiculous :)
I’m sure your intention was helpful, sometimes a little less altitude in tone simply lands better for a conversation on eye level. as said - the door is open.
