Description

It is one of those hikes where I make you take a loooonnggg walk! Although I have spent decent time in the mountains, I find these long walks challenging, and I wish to get good at it. So, this is a very good opportunity for anyone (like me) who wishes to warm up their legs for the Megamarsch. 

This hike is mainly to check which shoes to wear, how our body reacts, what food to eat, and so on. It is one of those experimental hikes for München Megamarsch 2026 😋

Disclaimer:

Important:

  • We walk from Kochel to Munich just so that we are closer to Munich as night approaches. However, there are multiple exit points on the route
  • I am trying to simulate the Megamarsch. So, please do not "think out of the box!" 🙏 This is just a long walk.
  • Don't run! 😑 It is more of an endurance event than a sprint. If you start running, please keep running and don't turn back 🤪
  • If the weather turns for the worse/ if there is too much snow or ice on the route. I reserve the right to cancel/ postpone the event.
  • Please only join if you are confident that you can do 60 km in one day. We can suffer the rest of the 5-6 km together 😝
  • Speed will be approximately 5 km/h for the whole route. 
  • Please bring food and water for the whole day. A small kiosk break is, of course, permitted at some point along the route. No long breaks!

Things to bring:

  1. A good mood and a smiling face 😁 (Non-negotiable! No grumpies allowed!)
  2. ID proof and emergency contact details 🙏 (please place this safely in your backpack. You don't have to share it with the organizer out of privacy concerns, but it must be in your backpack/wallet for emergencies)
  3. Deutschland ticket (please buy a ticket if you don't have one)
  4. Enough water (~3 liters)
  5. Headlamps (must have)
  6. Proper shoes and socks (if you value your feet)
  7. Plasters to prevent blisters (highly recommended)
  8. Proper clothes (please look at the weather, and dress accordingly, be prepared for slight rain)
  9. Food and snacks for the whole day. I fueled my last 65 km walk with Haribo 😉
  10. Hiking poles (optional)
