Description

Hundsrügg is an easy hike, though there may still be some patches of snow. Its possible to shorten the hike easily. 

I haven’t decided yet whether to travel by car or by bus – I might end up taking photos of the sunset there or camping in the area to watch the Milky Way. Let me know if you’re interested too!

The view is brilliant, with sweeping vistas of the Alps and the spectacular cliffs of the Gastlosen right opposite. The last time I was there in spring, there was a sea of crocuses – but no guarantees ;)

We’ll have a picnic on the way; afterwards, we can pop into a restaurant or make raclette or fondue.

Hi Martin, thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures of your hike. Based on what you saw and comparing to last year, would you say the crocus bloom has just started or nearing its end? I'm considering going on 1. May, but trying to gauge whether I will have a chance at seeing any crocuses as Jaunpass is quite a long journey from where I live. Thanks, Claudia

Hey Claudia, since there was a lot of snow I can guaranty you that hou will see crocusses a while. But there are a lot of other places where you can see them right now, probably closer to you as well. at the moment you find them almost everywhere near the snow.
