Description
Hello everyone 👋
We’re planning a scenic mountain hike in the Hintere Lauterbrunnental this
Saturday – a true alpine experience with spectacular views of the Jungfrau,
Breithorn, and the dramatic waterfall valley 🏔️🌄
This route is much quieter and far away from mass tourism.

• Route: Stechelberg → Trachsellauenen → Obersteinberg → return via a different
loop section → back to Stechelberg
• Distance: approx. 12 km (~5h)
• Elevation gain: ~1000 m
• Difficulty: T2 / T3 (mountain hiking)

expect
• Incredible panoramic views of the Jungfrau massif and Breithorn
• Remote alpine atmosphere far from tourist crowds
• Waterfalls, steep rock walls, and wide alpine meadows
• Stop at Obersteinberg, a unique mountain guesthouse in an unforgettable
location (currently closed – so bring your own picnic 🥪)

🚆 Plan for Saturday
• Departure from Thun: 08:54 by train
• Route: Thun → Interlaken → Lauterbrunnen → Stechelberg
• Arrival in Stechelberg: ~10:25
• Start of hike: directly from Stechelberg
• Return: flexible (connections every ~30–60 min)

Probably you have to create a new event. Create new route or use existing route. You can upload a gpx file and it will be displayed on the event page. Other benefit of a hiking event, that it will be visible on your profile later.
