Let's enjoy the vibrant springtime in canton Nidwalden! 🌲☀️

This Sunday, we are going to do a relaxed, highly scenic spring hike. We will explore the Risletenschlucht, a beautiful "secret" gorge with wild waterfalls, and head up for stunning panoramic lake views.

We will hike from Beckenried to the Risleten gorge and back to Beckenried via Emmetten.

🗺️ The Plan:

• The Start: We meet at the Beckenried Post Bus stop at 09:00 and warm up with a beautiful walk to Risleten right along the shoreline of Lake Lucerne.

  The Hidden Gorge: We turn into the Risletenschlucht. We will enjoy some diverse canyon trails and climb up the steps right next to the wild, roaring waterfalls. It is a short, steep push, but it is completely shaded by the forest and the mist keeps you cool!

  Then, we will follow the contour lines of Ischenberg and get a breathtaking panoramic view from the Mythen Mountains all the way to the Rigi and Bürgenstock Mountains.

  The Return: Soon, we will reach the shores of Lake Lucerne again but from another direction, and we will enjoy the nice view of Lake Lucerne and hike back to Beckenried.

  
  

  ⏱️ The Details:
  

  • Elevation: A very manageable climb (roughly 612m gain, with the majority of this occurring within the gorge path).

  • Pace: Relaxed, supportive, and social. We are here to enjoy the Sunday, not race a stopwatch!

  • Gear: Proper hiking shoes, sun protection, water, and whatever you want to eat for a lakeside picnic.
