Description

Let’s go this Saturday for a scenic tour with awesome views in Salzburgerland. You should be able to handle 1188m elevation, 13km distance for this T2 level hike. Please leave the day free so that we don’t have to rush :) 


This is a carpool hike, so please only join if you are sure you can make it.

Travel costs (gas, vignette, parking, etc.) will be shared among all participants.



Please note: 

I might cancel the event if the weather forecast turns unfavorable or if too few people sign up.

If you have No Show on your profile for the past year, please consider another hike.

The "Wolfgangseer Schafberg" is one of the peaks with most beautiful view in Austria. Wherever you look, your eyes will be hit by the blue of alpine lakes on all sides. This mountain located in Salzburgerland is surrounded by three of the main lakes of the Salzkammergut: Wolfgangsee, Mondsee and Attersee plus Irrsee and Fuschlsee and in clear days you can get to see even Chiemsee in Bayern. Plus the view from the summit (1783m) guarantees the gorgeous mountain scenery of  Höllengebirge range, Dachstein Mountains and famous Watzmann.

Good to know

What to bring:

  • At least 2L of water
  • Snacks or packed lunch for along the way
  • Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)
  • Hiking poles (optional but useful)
  • Cash for hut food/drinks (cards not always accepted)
  • DAV membership card (recommended for discounts & insurance)
  • Downloaded GPX track on your phone/GPS device
  • Small first aid kit / blister plasters

Hi Marian, sorry don't know if you got my message. if possible, I'd like to join the hike. Currently, I can't join as I don't have 3 hikes on this platform as I haven't always tracked my hikes. But, I have done multiple hikes including some via ferrata recently which involved hiking but are not counted as hikes. thanks!
