Experience Required: You must have completed at least 3 hiking or via ferrata events (with 3+ participants) in the last year to join.
Description

A ridge hike on the impressive, seemingly freestanding Hohe Munde, opposite of Germany's second highest mountain Hochwanner and view of Zugspitze, as well as Alps main range.

We'll hike the route counterclockwise.

After the descent we'll probably have break at a hut.

Note: 9:00 is the beginning of the hike, not the meeting time for the carpool!

Hikers with <1000 points or no T4 hikes must send me a PM with details about their other experience and fitness within 1h after joining. Otherwise they will be removed.

Technical Difficulty: This hike is NOT suitable for beginners. You have to be surefooted and not have fear of heights. You should have experience with easy scrambling, via ferrata A/B without a set, not be slow (>=450m gain/hour), and a pace of at least 5km/h in the flat parts.

Weather forecast sunny but chilly

Transport: We will go by car as the starting point is not easily accessible by public transport. We'll share the car expenses (no vignette required). The driver(s) may require passengers to pay in advance. Please read the car instructions carefully. If the hike or lift is cancelled or postponed, the drivers must reimburse the prepaid payments. Otherwise a passenger dropping out before departure must only be reimbursed if the driver can find a replacement. Car drivers must contact me first if they drop out.

Drivers: Drivers should check whether all passengers fulfil the mandatory conditions (see below) and reject those who don't. There may be a parking fee.

Joining: Click on carpool. If a car has free seats, read the instructions and possibly join the car. Otherwise add yourself to the waiting list and regularly check for free seats. You are not automatically assigned to a car.

Legal disclaimer: This is not a guided tour. I merely organize the trip to the starting point with like-minded, qualified, properly equipped and reliable persons. Every participant must be able to navigate her/himself on the suggested route. If you join, you acknowledge that hiking is dangerous, you are fully responsible for yourself and that you have sufficient insurance (DAV, Bergrettung or similar).

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't want to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours. No-shows will be recorded in your profile.
