Only in good weather! ☀️ If you want to join the hike, you need to join a car - you are not automatically assigned a spot. 

I’m planning a sporty but chill paced hike (>1000hm) followed by watching the Sommersonnenwende fires from Brandstadl and take the cable car down - they operate until 23pm this day due to the fires. 


Overall plan as of now:

1: Main hiking route: Brandstadl Runde 🥾⛰️. Have some food at Bergrestaurant Brandstadl and enjoy the view
2: Optional bonus loop on top: Panoramarunde between Brandstadl and Hartkaiser  ⛰️✨
3: Watch the Sommersonnenwende fires 🔥🌄 
4: Take the cable car down 🚡🌙
5: Back in Munich around 24/01:00am

The main hike starts at the Brandstadlbahn valley station 🚗🅿️and has approx. 12.8 km / 1,130 m elevation gain. If we add the panorama loop, it will be around 19 km / 1,300 m elevation gain in total, so please only join if you’re comfortable with a long uphill hike 🥾⛰️

Let’s meet at the Brandstadlbahn parking lot around 9:00 am to have a good chance of getting a parking spot 🚗

Please note: I’m not a mountain guide — this is a private hike with everyone joining at their own responsibility. Please make sure you’re comfortable with the distance, elevation gain, and general mountain conditions 🥾⛰️

Also, the GPX route shown on Hiking Buddies seems to differ from the actual planned route, so please refer to the links above for the intended hike.

guys on the waiting list - whilst I would love to take you all, the group would get too big. But Dhruv has opened another Bergfeuer event in Ehrwald - check it out, might be an option :)

For all spontaneous hiking buddies - if you join us spontaneously, liase directly with the car driver of the carpool that you would like to join to doublecheck capacity, meeting point & time!
