This is a serious alpine day featuring exposed ridge climbing, difficult ferrata sections, breathtaking scenery, and a long descent through Brendlkar.
We will take the train to Ehrwald Zugspitzbahn:
Departure from München-Pasing: 05:30
Participants can also join from München HBF
Multiple return connections are available, with options up to approximately 21:31
Please be punctual. This is a long mountain day and we need an early start.

Expect a full-day alpine adventure with significant elevation gain, exposed terrain, and sustained physical effort.
This route is NOT suitable for beginners.
The Tajakante Klettersteig is considered one of Austria's most beautiful via ferratas, but it demands:
Previous difficult via ferrata experience
Comfort on highly exposed terrain
Strong endurance
Good upper-body strength
Sure-footedness and mountain experience
The Coburger Klettersteig adds another steep and demanding D/E challenge to an already long day.
This is a route where experience matters.
Appropriate footwear
Via ferrata set + "Rastschlinge"
Helmet
Climbing gloves
Towel to dry yourself after the swim
Hiking poles (optional)
Water (3+ liters minimum)
Food/snacks for the entire day
Appropriate hiking clothes
Sunscreen
First aid kit (optional)
There are long sections of the route where resupply is not possible.
Please bring:
At least 3 liters of water
Enough food and snacks for a demanding full-day mountain adventure
If your nutrition strategy is "someone else will have extra," please revise your strategy immediately. 😄
Any snacks still remaining at the end of the hike will automatically become community property. Amyth law. 🏔️🍫
🏔️ One of Austria's most beautiful ridge traverses
⛓️ Sustained D/E via ferrata climbing
🌊 Stunning views of Seebensee and Drachensee
📸 Endless photo opportunities
😅 Questionable life decisions during the steep sections
🍺 A very well-earned drink at the end
The views are world-class.
The exposure is world-class.
The challenge is world-class.
And that is exactly why we're doing it.
