Description

T4 High elevation hike – Le Luisin & Haute Cime

Difficulty: T4 alpine hike with sections at high elevation.
Not suitable for beginners or for people with a fear of heights or exposure.
A good level of fitness is required, and the pace may be brisk.

We will summit two peaks:

  • Le Luisin (2,786 m)
  • Haute Cime (3,257 m)

Accommodation

Overnight stay at Auberge de Salanfe:
https://salanfe.ch/en/

Please book your accommodation yourself.
As of the morning of 1 July, there were still 6 dormitory beds available.

Day 1

We will hike over Le Luisin (T4). If anyone is not comfortable with this section, it is possible to take an alternative route through the Emaney Valley instead, although it is longer.

There may still be some snow on the descent, so we may need to keep a steady pace. If we arrive early enough, we can enjoy a swim in Lac de Salanfe.

Day 2

We will start early and hike up to the Col de Susanfe. From there, we follow an unmarked T3+ route to Haute Cime.

After reaching the summit, we descend towards Champéry, with the option of stopping at Cabane de Susanfe along the way.

Transport

Outbound: Zürich HB – 07:02 departure.

Return: Train from Champéry at 16:48 or 17:48.
