This multi-day tour explores the rugged borders of the Silvretta and Samnaun mountain ranges. Crossing between Switzerland and Austria, this high-alpine trek takes you through majestic passes and iconic valleys.

4-Day Alpine Hut Trek: Guarda to Samnaun
High Passes & Glacier Views across the Swiss-Austrian Border
An epic 4-day, 3-night high-alpine journey starting in the historic Engadin village of Guarda, winding through the spectacular peaks of the Silvretta range, and finishing in the duty-free valley of Samnaun. We will cross international borders on foot, conquer high mountain passes, and spend our nights enjoying warm hospitality in traditional Swiss and Austrian mountain huts.

Trip Overview
 * **Total Distance:** ~52 km
 * **Total Ascent:** ~3,500 meters
 * **Accommodation:** 3 Nights in Alpine Huts (Half-board: Dinner & Breakfast included)
 * **Difficulty:** **T3 (Challenging Alpine Hiking)**. Requires strong physical endurance, sure-footedness, and comfort with sustained elevation gains while carrying a multi-day pack.

Daily Itinerary
 1. Day 1: Guarda to Chamonna Tuoi via Lai Blau
   ~11 km | +1,100m / -300m | ~4.5 hours
   We begin in the picture-perfect Engadin village of Guarda (1,653m). The trail climbs steadily up into the Val Tuoi before veering off toward the stunning alpine lake Lai Blau (2,604m). After a break by the deep blue waters, we descend to Chamonna Tuoi CAS (2,250m), beautifully positioned right under the massive rock face of Piz Buin.

 2. Day 2: Chamonna Tuoi to Jamtalhütte (DAV) via Furcletta
   ~13 km | +850m / -950m | ~5.5 hours
   A true border-crossing day. We climb out of Val Tuoi over the high alpine pass of Furcletta (2,735m) or the nearby transition passes, stepping over the border from Switzerland into Austria. We then descend into the dramatic, glacier-carved Jamtal to arrive at the large, excellently equipped Austrian Alpine Club hut, Jamtalhütte (2,165m).

 3. Day 3: Jamtalhütte to Heidelberger Hütte (DAV) via Kronenjoch
   ~14 km | +800m / -700m | ~5.5 hours
   Today we conquer the highest point of our trek. Leaving the Jamtal, we climb through rugged moraine landscapes up to the Kronenjoch (2,974m), flanked by towering peaks. From the pass, we cross back into Swiss territory to descend into the peaceful Val Fenga, finishing at the Heidelberger Hütte (2,264m)—uniquely owned by the German Alpine Club (DAV) but located on Swiss soil.

 4. Day 4: Heidelberger Hütte to Samnaun via Finstermünzpass
   ~14 km | +450m / -900m | ~4.5 hours
   Our final day takes us out of Val Fenga as we ascend up over the Finstermünzpass (or the nearby Fuorcla da Val Gronda, 2,752m). From here, we enjoy a long, panoramic descent into the resort village of Samnaun (1,840m), marking the end of our incredible border-hopping loop.

The Hut Experience
We will be staying in shared dormitory-style rooms (Matratzenlager) or multi-bed rooms. Your booking includes **half-board** (substantial multi-course mountain dinners and breakfast buffet).
 * **Charging:** Electricity is available to charge phones/cameras in the evenings.

Travel & Logistics
 - Arrival: 11:02 at Guarda

 * **Hut Essentials:** A lightweight **hut sleeping bag liner** (silk or cotton—mandatory for hygiene), a small travel towel, and earplugs.
 * **Clothing Layers:** Rain jacket, rain pants, warm down/fleece jacket, gloves, and a beanie (even in summer, passes at 2,900m can get freezing cold or snowy).
