On Sunday, we’ll escape the heat and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the ice-cooled Tierberglihütte.

From the Steingletscher, we’ll walk along Lake Seeboden into the valley to the Umpol car park. Anyone who’d like to can join me from here to tackle one or both sections of the via ferrata. After 2 hours and 45 minutes, we’ll reach the Tierberglihütte, which is surrounded by glaciers. After a leisurely break, we’ll begin the descent back to the Steingletscher.

Please note: I accept no responsibility and am only familiar with the standard route, which does not include a via ferrata. This is high-alpine terrain. Please ensure you have suitable kit and sun protection.

I’ll be spending the weekend at the Susten Pass. There’s another hike on Saturday, and I’ve got a few spare seats in my car for the journey back to Bern.
