Description
Let's embrace the rain/snow/weather, by heading up Hirschberg for (hopefully) a good view of Tegernsee.
There will probably be snow, so please bring suitable
footwear. I will have waterproof boots, gaiters and spikes. The pace
will be gentle, not sure exactly what speed. However, given the weather there may not be many breaks, as stopping in the rain just makes you damp. The Hirschberghaus is closed, so please bring lunch.

Transport
Meet at the start of platform 34 by 7:50. That is when I will buy the ticket, if you are late then you will have to buy your own. We will travel with a Bayern Ticket, which costs €25+7…, i.e. €16 each for two people, €13 for three/six, €11.50 for four, €10.60 for five.
- 8:04 BOB to Tegernsee, arriving 9:09.
- 9:17 bus 9556 towards Klamm, Kreuth, arriving at Scharling Hirschbergweg at 9:44.
For the return, the buses and trains are hourly, for example:
- 15:09 from Scharling Hirschbergweg, bus 9556 to Tegernsee, arriving 15:37.
- 15:52 BOB to Munich, arriving 16:54.
My kit list (yours should be similar)
- gaiters
- spikes/crampons (I am bringing them, please decide for yourself if you need them)
- head torch
- first aid kit
- snacks
- lunch
- more snacks
- water (1.5ℓ)
- walking poles, if you have them
- waterproofs (jacket, trousers, bag cover/liner)
- warmth (fleece)
- dry socks
- wooly hat, gloves
- sunglasses and suncream (if you're feeling optimistic)
