We’ve got some lovely weather this week, so let's spend Thursday afternoon on the saddle! The roads to the north of Munich are nice and quiet, and pass through some lovely sleepy Bavarian villages. This route follows the course of the river Amper upstream, after crossing over the slight ridge from Neufahrn. The total distance is 51.6 km, and only 209 m ascent. I will be on a road bike, but feel free to join on whatever bike you have, as long as you can keep up 20-25 km/h on the flats. If you're feeling strong, you could even try on one of Garching’s MVG bikes, but be warned that they are pretty heavy!
Almost the entire route is within 10 km of the S-Bahn, in case you do need to drop out. Depending on how we’re feeling, I may stop off for a swim in the Amper (after Ampermoching), or otherwise at Garchinger See at the end.

Transport
I have organised this as a “car”pool event so you can arrange to join others if you are cycling to the start from elsewhere, for example from the S-Bahn station in Ismaning. I will be coming from Garching directly. If you are joining or dropping out less than 12 hours in advance, please let me know by WhatsApp.

This is what I am bringing; your kit list should be similar.
