The route starts within Durmitor National Park near Žabljak and climbs southwest onto the high plateau toward Bobotov Kuk (2,523m), the highest peak in Montenegro. The ascent crosses exposed rocky terrain above 2,200m, passing through Velika Previja before reaching the summit.

From Bobotov Kuk, the trail descends east via Mali Međed (2,287m) and Veliki Međed (2,287m), traversing a high ridge above the glacial cirques. The route then drops north toward Crno jezero (Black Lake, 1,459m), Durmitor's most accessible glacial lake, sitting at the foot of the massif just outside Žabljak. The final section follows the lake shore back to the national park entrance.
