A relaxed afterwork hike to kick off the extended weekend on Zugerberg, ending with a sunset at the panoramic viewpoint Hochwacht Zug.

This is an easy, beginner-friendly hike suitable for all fitness levels. We’ll start with the funicular ride up and then follow a scenic loop through forest paths and open landscapes, including the Zugerberg high moor area (a protected natural bog landscape typical of the plateau).

The highlight of the hike is reaching Hochwacht, located at the northern end of the Zugerberg ridge between Lake Zug and Lake Ägeri, offering stunning panoramic views!

We plan to reach the viewpoint around 20:15, just before sunset at 20:35. That gives us time to relax, have a picnic, and enjoy the changing colors of the sky from one of the benches on the platform.

After sunset, we will descend together back to the funicular station (approx. 15 minutes walk, 900 m).
