<div>A scenic mountain hike with a steady ascent and very varied scenery. The trail begins at the stunning Obernberger See and leads through alpine forests, meadows, open ridges and high mountain landscapes to the summit area of the Rötenspitze. The turquoise waters of Obernberger See, the panoramic summit views and the peaceful Lichtsee lake are the main highlights of this route.</div><div>The hike starts at the parking area of Obernberger See, one of Tyrol’s most picturesque alpine lakes. Nestled in a basin of the Stubai Alps, the crystal-clear turquoise waters reflect the surrounding limestone cliffs, dense larch forests and the charming Maria am See chapel. To the right rises the majestic Obernberger Tribulaun, while to the left stands the Allerleigrubenspitze. At the far end of the lake, the Portjoch marks the border with Italy, creating an almost postcard-perfect mountain setting.</div><div>From the lake, we follow the trail towards the upper valley and continue through alpine terrain until reaching the area of Trunajoch. From here, the path follows the broad ridge westward before ascending the narrow southeast ridge of the Rötenspitze. The climb is initially moderately steep and becomes slightly steeper in the final meters, leading to the summit at 2481 m. From the top, breathtaking 360° panoramic views open across the Stubai, Tux and Zillertal Alps, with the striking Tribulaun massif dominating the horizon.</div><div>After enjoying the summit views, we descend back towards the Trunajoch pass and continue eastwards to the beautiful Lichtsee lake at 2105 m. This peaceful mountain lake is a true scenic highlight, surrounded by open alpine meadows and impressive mountain scenery. At the Seehüttl area, the trail continues down through the alpine landscape, eventually reaching the lower pastures and the return route towards Obernberger See parking lot where we stop at the hut before driving back home to drink and eat something altogether to complete a day wit one of the finest scenery in the Wipptal region of Tyrol.</div><div><br></div>
