Description

Let's take advantage of the good weather on Friday and traverse Watzmann during the week as a day trip.

In contrast to the popular north->south direction we go counterclockwise (as in early days of the traverse), summit Südspitze first, avoid the long&steep descent and have lunch at Watzmannhaus.

I plan to be back at the car at 4pm at the latest and return to Munich by 6pm at the latest.

Participants with <1500points, no hikes >=T4 or less than 5hikes in the profile must send me their experience and fitness level when joining. Otherwise they will be removed.

Technical Difficulty: This hike is only suitable for experienced and fit hikers, with excellent stamina. You have to be surefooted and not have fear of heights. You should have experience with easy scrambling and easy via ferratas (B), not be slow (>=500m gain/hour), and a pace of at least 6km/h in the flat parts.

Weather forecast dry and sunny, from noon on some clouds

Transport: We will go by car as the starting point is not easily accessible by public transport. We'll share the car expenses. The driver(s) may require passengers to pay in advance.  Please read the car instructions carefully. If the hike or lift is cancelled or postponed, the drivers must reimburse the prepaid payments. Otherwise a passenger dropping out before departure must only be reimbursed if the driver can find a replacement. Car drivers must contact me first if they drop out.

Drivers: Drivers should check whether all passenger fulfil the mandatory conditions (see below) and reject those who don't.

Legal disclaimer: This is not a guided tour. I merely organize the trip to the starting point with like-minded, qualified, properly equipped and reliable persons. Every participant must be able to navigate her/himself on the suggested route. If you join, you acknowledge that hiking is dangerous, you are fully responsible for yourself and that you have sufficient insurance (DAV, Bergrettung or similar).
