Hoi hikers,


Let's go for a ridge hike on the border of cantons Obwalden and Nidwalden.

Note: This hike is not suitable for beginners.


How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Luzern - Grafenort

The train (IR70 to Luzern) departs at 07:10 from ZH HB.

Journey by car: Use gps. Note: This is not a roundtrip


Meeting point:
08:40 AM - Grafenort: Walking to Mettlen (ca. 1,7 km)
From Mettlen we take the Buurebähnli to Rugisbalm and Eggen (9 CHF cash) and then start the hike.

 
Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 7 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • Short lunch break at the Gräfimattnollen.
  • The pace will be medium/fast with enough time to admire the landscape,

Equipment:

  • Proper hiking boots, poles, snacks, enough water (min. 3l - no water source during the hike), proper clothes acc. to the weather, sunscreen, tick spray, good mood and fitness.
