8:32 RB6 departs to Garmisch-Partenkirchen

10:04 Change in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to RB60

10:29 Arrival to Ehrwald and Bus to the Almbahn (2.90€)

Approx 11:00 Start of the hike.


IMPORTANT: There will be a border crossing, don't forget your Passport/ID.

There will be no group tickets, everyone is responsible for the own tickets.


The hike is not beginner friendly and requires good fitness condition and flexibility (meaning abilities to increase the ascending tempo or to run down to catch the train).


Trains back are departing at 16:31, 17:31, 18:31 and the last one at 21:31.


If we have enough time, we can swim and eat in the Coburger Hütte.


The date may be moved depending on the weather conditions.

Good to know

Hiking in mountains is dangerous. Make sure you are prepared enough.


Bring:

- enough food and water,

- cache for the hut,

- headlamp,

- raincover,

- sunscreen,

- first aid kit,

- device with a map,

- swimsuit/towel if you are going to swim,

- good mood :),

- DAV insurance is strongly recommended.

I'm not a mountain guide and this is my first organized hike, please keep it in mind :)

Hi everyone, the weather forecast is bad again. We could do the hike, but the experience would be not that good. So I'm moving the hike to the next Sunday.

Hello again everyone, I've just checked the weather forecast and it seems like the next Sunday it will be raining again with high probability. So I'm moving the hike to the Saturday and will keep watching the forecast. Sorry for inconvenience.

Hi everyone, the current situation is: there are no trains between Garmisch and Ehrwald due to personal shortage, only SEVs. The way there will take about 2.5 hours but the way back is about 4.5-5 hours (including 2 hours on bus and 1 hour change and high load expectation). I don't think it will be a good experience. I hate the situation but there's nothing I can do against weather and freakin' Deutsche Bahn. I was thinking about changing the date (yeah, for the 3rd time) but the next possible for me is 21st or 22nd September, not sure if it makes sense. Let me know if you are still interested doing this hike in September, otherwise I'll just remove the event. Sorry for that.

Hello again :) Train drivers are back from their vacation and the weather is supposed to be very good. Unfortunately I've got cold and won't be able to recover until Saturday. Yeah, live is hard. So I would propose to not postpone the hike again and just make it without me instead. If someone is interested in taking charge of organizing the hike, please write to the WhatsApp group. In case no one will be interested, I'll move the hike to the next Sunday tomorrow at PM.

Update: it should be sunny but still pretty cold (+5C). Please take enough warm clothes. I also recommend to take spikes.
