Hi,
I managed to book 8 beds in Hagener Hütte and I wanted to do a 2-day hike in Austria over this hut in September. Below a short description of the route - the details will follow closer to the date. If you're interested, feel free to join, I will get in touch with you somewhere in August about it.
The hike starts from Mallnitz, where we will get on a train (note1: 4h, note2: no Bayern ticket, reservation in advance necessary, cost about 25€ one way, 50€ both ways, note3: we may go for the earlier train (leaving at 6, if everyone agrees). We will be there around midday (or 10, depending on our choices) and will make our way up the slope (4h), to Minderer Hütte (ca. 2400m), where we will enjoy some of our own food (no food at the hut), before proceeding next couple of kilometers on the 'Highway' to Hagener Hütte. After a stop there, there will be a hike from the hut to Greilkopf (30min one way, easy route) before the day ends (possibly a sunset hike), then early sleepover at the hut.
After getting up early the next morning, we make our way to Geiselkopf (ca. 2h, more difficult slope, can be skipped if necessary), come back to the hut and then proceed down a bit more challenging path towards the valley (1600m) - there we can enjoy a late lunch at the alms (details will follow) and follow the valley down to Bad Gastein, where a train will take us back to Munich. Estimated arrival back: Midnight. Please bear that in mind.
Basic alpine experience and reasonable physical fitness are necessary. The tempo will be moderate as we will be somewhat time-restrained, but not fast.
Please note that a deposit of 10€ will be required closer to the date for the hut reservation.
Please sign up if you're interested, detailed instructions will follow shortly. Please note I will be on holiday first 2 weeks of September; I may not be too quick at answering messages.
In addition to your usual hiking stuff, you may need:

- sleeping bag (Hüttenschlafsack)
