Important: We will cross border between Germany and Austria, so please bring your passport or other document that you carry for border crossing.

Up to Mahnkopf, it's an easy hike and suitable for beginners who do sports on a regular basis. Depending on conditions and group discretion, I would also aim for Steinfalk with a smaller group if some people are not comfortable. The part from Mahnkopf to Steinfalk is T3, and requires some scrambling of grade I. The people who choose to skip Steinfalk, will have to wait at Falkenhuette.

Public transport: We will take BOB86905 departing at 7:04 am, which will arrive Lenggries at 8:11 am. From there we take bus 9569 departing at 8:17 am, and finally reach Eng/Tirol Gasthous at 9:19 am. This is the start and endpoint of our hike. Note that the bus ticket is not included in Bayern ticket. The roundtrip cost for the bus ride is 13 Euro per person. However, there is a 50% discount for a group of 10 or more people.

Departure time of return connection: 18:35 (2h15m)

Technical difficulty: The hike up to Mahnkopf has difficulty T2. The part from Mahnkopf to Steinfalk has difficulty T3. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T2/T3.

We will have lunch at Falkenhütte, however please bring enough food/drink to avoid starvation/dehydration before reaching there (or if you want to avoid having lunch at the hut).

Things to bring:

• Waterproof hiking boots
• Cash for the ticket and (possibly) for the food at the hut
• Food/drinks for the way
• Warm clothes
• Headlight (just in case)
• Some tolerance for cloudy and rainy weather

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
