Route: The meeting point is at the bottom of the gondola, and the primary plan is to take this gondola and save around 700m in ascending. However, the gondola has quite a limited capacity, so it's possible that there will be big queues when we arrive. In this case we'll not wait for the gondola, but instead will hike up - this corresponds to the route marked here. So if we're lucky and gondola is not too busy - we take it and save 700m ascent/4.5 km distance; if not - we walk uphill.

After we reach the top the trail goes gently next to Glattalpsee, from where we'll hike up to Ortstock. We then descend into the Braunwald area, and take a funicular down to Linthal valley.

Pace: Moderate - fast.

Meeting point: Bottom of the gondola Sahli (Luftseilbahn Glattalp)

End point: Top of Braunwald funicular.

How to get there: Train IC 2 departs from Zurich HB at 7:05. Then we need to take multiple busses to reach the destination.

How to get back: Funicular down to valley, and then train to Zurich.

What to take: Regular hiking equipment, in particular comfortable shoes (hiking boots or trail running shoes); food - we’ll have picnic lunch somewhere along the way; water; sunscreen; sunglasses; emergency rain jacket.
