Description

NOTE: Since weather conditions are changing drastically over time and I planned this hike pretty early, I keep my rights to change the hiking date (but hopefully we can do it)!

We will meet at München Hbf (Gl. 33). Please be punctual!

Public transport: We take RB 56 departing at 7:04 am from Munich Hbf at platform number 33, change in Tegernsee to Bus 329 to Hinterriß Haglhütte.

Since Deutschalnd Ticket is valid only to Oswaldhütte, we need to buy a ticket in the bus for the route from Oswaldhütte to Haglhütte and back (~8-10 EUR each person one way, so 15-20 EUR both ways). We can also try to buy the group ticket, then the final price of ticket can be lower.

For the way back, we will try to take a Bus 329 from Hinterriß Haglhütte at 17:37. However, the last connection departures at 18:35 and we are aiming to catch this bus!

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T2, some parts could require some scrambling at the top (T4), so I would classify it as T3. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T3.

Pace: 400-500 mph

Huts: We will have food/drinks at Plumsjochhütte. It might be late when we arrive at the hut, so please bring enough food/drinks for the whole day.

Whattsapp group for the hike: TBA

Good to know

Things to bring:

  • Deutschland Ticket with ID card (UE) or passport (we are crossing boarder);
  • cash and/or PayPal app for bus ticket between Haglhütte and Ostwaldhütte (DE-Ticket is not working there);
  • hiking shoes;
  • gaiters (it might be snowy on the peak);
  • extra pair of socks;
  • spikes;
  • windproof and waterproof clothes;
  • water (at least 2 l) and some food;
  • sunscreen and sunglasses;
  • DAV insurance;
  • hiking poles;
  • first aid kit;
  • GPX file with downloaded route;
  • good energy and stamina.

Note:

  • Unjoining is allowed until 12 hours before the start of the event
  • The organizer is no professional guide. Participants are responsible for themselves, must do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves (in case the group splits for some reason, for example)

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for themselves. Please make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. Additionally, you could download the map, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit.
