Description
The snowline has come down, so we will divert to a lower altitude hike: Buochserhorn.

The Buochserhorn hike also has two skipping-the-top options for if the snow line comes down even further.

  • 9:35-9:45 introduction round
  • 9:45-11:45 hike 700 elevation to Niederrickenbach
  • 11:45-13:15 hike to Buochserhorn 
  • 13:15-14:00 lunch break
  • 14:00-17:00 hike down back starting point

OUTDATED description:


The weather looks dry for this weekend, with a tiny sliver of sunshine!
Time for another ridge hike!

(If the snow-line comes down too much and we can't do the hike, I'll find an alternative route at a location close by.)
 

Meeting point and time: 10:00 at Luftseilbahn Eggwald - Gummenalp (if everyone is by car) or 10:10 at Wirzweli if people are going by train and cable car. 


Getting there

Getting back

  • By public transport: Cable car down at 16:40, 17:40, 18:20 and 20:00.

What to take: 2+ liters of drinks, hiking shoes, layers of clothing (it's not summer anymore!), lunch, snacks, sunglasses, a good mood!

Pace: Moderate pace. ~300 elevation per hour

Schedule

  • 10:00-13:00 hike to Schluchberg
  • 13:00-14:00 lunch break
  • 14:00-17:00 hike over Arvigrat back to starting point

For the people not on WhatsApp, we'll go to Buochserhorn instead, because Arvigrat (and Stanserhorn) have snow! Please see the updated details on the event. And let me know if you have questions!
