Hello, Hiking Buddies!
The hike starts with the Herzogstand-Heimgarten classic, which offers scenic views to Kochelsee and Walchensee (autumn and winter vibes, probably).
This is not very
beginner-friendly tour. It's a long hike and we will not be making
many breaks- 1 on Herzogstand, 1 on Heimgarten and another on Rauheck/Buchrain
Expected
pace - 450 hm/hour ascend, 700+hm/hour descend. I might encourage you
to speed-walk the last 30 minutes if that gives us a chance to catch the
train early.
Getting to Walchensee: RB66, leaving at 8 am from Hbf
Back from Ohlstadt XX:25 of the hour
Bring:
1) A good mood.
2) Proper Hiking boots
3) Head lamp
4) Hiking/Trekking Poles (recommended)
5) Whatever winter gear you like: gaiters/spikes
Other stuff:
- DAV membership (recommended)
- Proper rain jacket, good chance we get some rain
- Something to drink & eat to survive whole day of hiking (~2 Liters of water)- no hut stops planned
- A dry sense of humor (recommended, but not mandatory)
What I offer you:
- Fresh fruit: a kiwi and/or an apple (probably)
- Dried fruit: I might have figs (probably)
- Wet toilet paper
What I do not offer you:
- Mountain guide services
- Other fruits
Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide, nor have I even done this hike. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
