[EDIT 11.10.2024]: The weather looks okay for tomorrow. It is going to be cloudy and the via Ferrata section might be a bit wet from Friday's rain so be prepared. The itinerary is basically the same. Please join the Whatsapp group for the latest updates. 

[EDIT 05.10.2024]: There seems to be a lot of snow in the region. This significantly changes the original plan. Given that most of you are new to via ferrata, I would not do this event this weekend. So, I am postponing the event to next weekend. Please join the Whatsapp group for more updates.

Join me on this wonderful hike. We first start by doing an A/B via Ferrata to Ettaler Manndl. From there we pass through Laber and Schartenkopf. Even though it is just an A/B level, I expect everyone joining to bring the entire via Ferrata equipment (look at the list below). We will climb at a moderate climbing speed of 350-400m/h. You can of course take your time on the via Ferrata, we don't have to rush it. If everything goes as planned, we will start around 09:00 am and take the 16:40 connection back to Munich. Please check the itinerary below for more information.

The hike is rated at SAC T5 level difficulty and is NOT suitable for beginners. If you haven't done a TRUE T4 or higher event before please contact me, or else you will be removed. Be prepared for rain and cold. Please familiarize yourself with the SAC scaled before joining the hike.

Additional information:

• The link to a Whatsapp group will be posted in the comments section on Saturday evening (05.10.2024). Please join the group to get the latest updates.
• There might be some snow patches close to the peaks and on the ridges, so having spikes will be helpful. 
• If the weather changes to worse or if there are less than 3 participants, I reserve the right to postpone the hike.

Things to bring:

1. A good mood and a smiling face 😁
2. Deutschland ticket (please buy a ticket if you don't have one)
3. DAV insurance (highly recommended)
4. Via Ferrata set (Must!)
5. via Ferrata harness (Must!)
6. Helmet (Must!)
7. Gloves (highly recommended)
8. Sturdy shoes with "climbing zone"
9. Enough water (>=2 lt)
10. Spikes (Optional/good to have, it might help if there is snow)
11. Hiking poles (recommended)
12. Proper clothes (Please look at the weather and dress accordingly)
13. Food and snacks (We can stop at the Laberalm along the way)

Meeting point:

We can meet in front of Pl. 29 in Munich Hbf at 07:25 am. We will take the 07:32 train to Oberau as shown in the Itinerary below followed by a bus to the starting point. Please be on time so that we can all get a place to sit. If the platform changes, I will update you accordingly. It is also fine if you wish to join the group from some other train station along with way.
