Hoi hikers,


Second half of October is the time for the colourful autumn foliage hikes. Among the larches of Balavaux you can find some of the largest and oldest ones in Europe.


And if this fact were not convincing enough, some other highlights you can find in this hike:

- Ridge walk to the Dent de Nendaz peak

- Bisse de Saxon (partly), the longest bisse in Wallis

- Lake Tracouet

- sunshine

Note: This hike is not suitable for beginners.


How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Bern - Visp - Sion - Haute-Nendaz, bif.Le Déserteur (bus)

The train (IC1 to Geneva) departs at 06:22 from ZH HB.

Journey by car: Use gps.

9:45 AM -  Haute-Nendaz, bif.Le Déserteur bus stop

 
Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 6,5-7 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • Short lunch break at the Dent de Nendaz peak.
  • The pace will be medium/fast with enough time to admire the landscape. In case you're not able to keep up with the pace, we might split up.


Equipment:

  • Proper hiking boots, poles, snacks, enough water, proper clothes acc. to the weather, sunscreen, good mood and fitness.

  • If you have a No Show in your profile (= you did not show up to a hike you signed up to in the past), I may exclude you from the event.
  • Unjoining allowed until 12 hours before the start of the event. If you are unable to be join for whatever reason, contact the organizer.
