Hello, hiking buddies in and around Zurich!

Here is proposal for a hiking trip to "Dreibündenstein" near Chur GR for Sunday (27.10.). The weather is forecasted by MeteoSwiss to be sunny, dry and mild (~ 7-10 °C).

Our group is mixed from different online platforms, and we will use the "double-day-pass" offer from SBB. Hence, we travel in pairs. I will update the participant numbers here and coordinate the pairing, if neccessary. - So if you need a ticket partner, please reach out!

Meeting point: Zurich main station, platform 43/44 (open middle section), 8:00 o'clock,
Departure: 8:09 o'clock with S 15 to Chur

Itinerary: ZH HB -- IR 15 --> Chur -- B 11 --> Stadhalle -- Brambrüeschbahn --> Brambrüesch (10:36)
Hiking: Brambrüesch -- 5:30-5:00 h:mm --> Feldis/Veulden.
Return: Cable car down to Rhäzüns.
 - For the cable cars, we use the regular tickets, costing 14.90 CHF = 11.00 + 4.70 with Halbtax/GA and 26.90 CHF = 17.50 + 9.40 CHF without abo. (Pricing details: brambruesch_sommer_einzeltarife_1.pdf (graubuenden.ch). Cable-car tickets are available online, but we will buy on site! So no need to buy the cable car ticket in advance! But please bring 15.70 CHF with GA/Halbtax and 26.90 CHF without in total, so that I can pay for everyone together! You can also transfer me via TWINT tomorrow. Only buy the SBB ticket, as soon as you got your "partner".

The return by train from Rhäzüns GR is planned for ~ 17:15/45 o'clock with arrival in ZH around 19:30/20:00 o'clock.
The cable car from Feldis goes every 30 min. (xx:40/xx.10), so we have to time our medium pace!

Good to know

... before the trip:

  • Wear and bring with you clothing according to the weather and your needs. A light rain jacket is always recommended.
  • Please wear proper boots for mountainous hiking trails. Light sport shoes are not enough!
  • Hiking poles are optional, but always recommended as there will be steep inclindes, too. Additionally, I recommend sunglasses and sunscreen always.
  • Also bring with you enough provisions (food and drinks) for the day. We usually prefer "picnic" over restaurants. There are NO official driking wells on the track, so bring enough water!

... during the trip/hike:

  • Stay on the tracks as much as possible, respect flora and fauna, especially on the higher areas.
  • Stay together with the group. If you need a stop or fall behind, notice us immediately! Please avoid to many photo stops, as this will hold up the flow too much. We will do short breaks and one long break on selected spots or regular times.
  • Finally, please be on time especially for the departure. We have timely and fixed connections with public transport. Hence we can not wait for late arrivals or search for you during the change of transport.
