Hey all!
Let's enjoy a beautiful fall color hike in Engadin! I hear there are larches and beautiful high alpine views.
For more info about the hike, and pictures, I got it from here: https://stunninghikes.com/southeastswitzerland/graubunden/furcletta/
I've never been.
Route: T2-3. Top bit might be technical, small loose rocks, and might have some snow.
Pace: Solid pace, about 450-500 vertical meters / hour. Total I expect the hike to take 7-8 hours.
Meeting point: Guarda - 10:09. Train from Zurich HB departs at 7:09.
I set the route as "carpool" in case anyone has a car, however I do not. I plan to take the train, SBB currently has the "Day Pass for 2" for 78 CHF, as long as one person has a HalfTax.
Weather: Right now the weather looks good. If it switches to terrible, I will plan a completely different hike (and will update here and in WhatsApp).
Snow: This hike goes up to 2740m. There might be snow above 2500m (according to swisstopo). I don't think it will be too bad. There are no webcams on the trail, but I checked some others in the area and didn't see any snow up to 2700m. However, be sure you are comfortable with a bit of snow, and if it does happen to be super sketchy, maybe I'll turn the hike back instead (we can still make a different loop, and it will still be fun).
What to bring: Enough food and water for a 7-8 hour hike. Good shoes, water, food, layers (it can get cold higher up) and anything else you might need.
