Description
⚠️Please read the whole description, it contains important information ⚠️

Hoi hikers,

End of October is the best time to visit Engadine for colourful autumn foliage hikes. Golden larches, blue lakes and high peaks nearby make sure, you will return home with nice memories.

As Engadine is unfortunately quite far from Zürich, I organise this time a hiking weekend, with an overnight in the Scuol Youth HostelEveryone shall book and pay their accomodation individually.

Of course it's possible to join for only 1 day too.

(Day 2 hike: https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/events/10490/)

More info about the hike: Guarda to Ardez via Furcletta Pass

SBB Day pass deal: CHF 78 for two people https://www.sbb.ch/en/campaign/day-pass-for-2.html

Weather forecast: Sunny with some clouds, colder and windier above 2500m. Furcletta (2735m)Guarda (village)

Note: This hike is not suitable for beginners. Spikes are needed!

How to get there:

Journey by public transport: ZH HB - Landquart - Guarda - Guarda, cumün (bus)

The train (S15 to Chur) departs at 07:09 from ZH HB. (Sadly no IC3 fast train this weekend)

Journey by car: Use gps.

Meeting point:
10:20 AM -  Guarda, cumün bus stop

Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 8 hours with a lot of viewpoints.
  • Short lunch break near the Toui hut (closed).
  • The pace will be medium/fast with enough time to admire the landscape. In case you're not able to keep up with the pace, we might split up.
  • If it's not managable to go through the Furcletta pass, no worries, an alternative route has already been planned.

Equipment:

  • Proper hiking boots, poles, spikes , snacks, enough water, proper clothes acc. to the weather, sunscreen, good mood and fitness.
