Hiking grade: T4, not suitable for complete beginners.
We will also pass along Pazolastock, then go down towards the Rhine source (Tomasee), then we go up towards Piz Cavradi. Along the way there are two huts, which we can decide during the hike whether to stop or something/eating. (Picnic only, the huts are closed for the season!)
Time Frame:
8:50 around this give or take meeting at Oberalppass (to be confirmed, it is just it is the first bus available for the ones coming from Zurich, we could start earlier if no one comes by bus).
18:00 finish or earlier, depends on the pace (I assume normal pace, there is time to observe the views and take pictures)
Meeting point
Parkplatz Oberalppass
I
will arrive by car, for the ones coming by public transport, I believe
you will need to take the 5:45 Zürich HB IR46 connection towards Goeschenen, then you take a train R44 to Andermatt and finally a bus towards Oberalppass, Bahnhof
For the others coming from elsewhere adjust accordingly targeting being there at around 8:50AM.
Hike details:
As described above. It is a tour over some 2700 and 2600m peaks, going down to Tomasee in between. Conditions should be favourable since the weather has been pretty dry.
Pace: Moderate in the sense that we can enjoy a little the scenery, take pictures...
Picnic:
Picnic along the way, not sure yet where or if we just stop at some hut.
Equipment:
Enough water
Hiking shoes
Hiking poles (if you need it)
Food
Good mood
Appropriate clothing for the conditions
Application:
As always there is the possibility to come by car.
Join the car pool and either create a car yourself or have a look who can take you there.
For
those who come by public transport please create a "car" in the carpool
with around 30 seats and use "public transport" as a description. That
way others can join that one and we keep a good overview.
If that one is full, create another one with 30 seats please.
