This Friday looks pretty good and moderately warm for the season. Let´s go for a nice hike together! :)

Tannheimer Group has very interesting hiking and climbing mountains that are very popular. Many are very well-known and crowded, such as the Aggenstein or the Große Schlicke. One of the least visited mountains is the Brentenjoch, which is a high-ranking lookout point.
From Vils station we start our hike below the geologically interesting limestone quarry, taking the road over the Kühbach and initially head west in a few bends. Later we head south up the moderately steep road, past the Alpstrudelfall and to the Vilser Alpe mountain hut. After around 250 m to the south, we first turn right onto a narrower road, then left onto a wide mountain path that leads to the Bad Kissinger Hütte. Behind the Bachgraben, where the ascent path widens into a small road, the route branches off to the left. Now through the long, attractive high valley of the Daurachalpe until the path rises slightly on the open slope and flows into the Vilser Jöchl. Immediately before the Vilser Jöchl, we turn right and follow the cross path north through Krummholz and sometimes over rocks. We get soon to a Jöchl again. From there on the southern ridge of the Brentenjoch, initially through fine gravel and mountain pine bushes, further up the open slope moderately steeply up to the summit cross. We finally reach Brentenjoch! From the summit cross you have a panorama that is truly one of the best in the area. You can look deep into Tyrol and the Tannheimer Mountains, Pfronten, Falkenstein, Füssen, Vils - you can even see as far as the Alpsee near Hohenschwangau. After enjoying such a view, we hike towards west along the ridge where the path winds its way down having on sight beautiful Aggenstein.
While you are walking, you should keep your eyes open, as not only is there a wonderful view, but if you pay a little attention you can also see chamois. There are usually high chances here around to spot one.
We keep going till we reach Hochalphütte that has a beautiful terrace where we can stop for a drink and some food.
From here we reach relatively fast Steinach station.

I am not a professional guide, hiking can be risky. Everybody is responsible for him/herself and must familiarize with the route and its requirements.
