This is a T4 hike and is not suitable for beginners.

Weather is sunny but cold.

Although this is a short hike, please note there is only 1 bus connection from Tegernsee to the starting point and 1 bus connection back, so I expect you to have a steady pace through out the hike. 

The tickets can be purchased directly on the bus, please bring at least 25€ for the bus(just to be safe but it's probably less), I am not sure about the pricing but this https://tickets.vvt.at/de/ticket shows 11.60€ one way.

Things to bring:

• proper hiking shoes;
  
• headlamp;
• spikes;
• food and water for the day (won't be stopping at the hut even if it's open);
• change of clothes for the lake if you are brave enough;
• layered clothing according to the latest weather forecast;
• GPX viewer with the route information;
• Deutschland ticket.

Optional:

• hiking poles;
• helmet (if you think you need it);
• first aid kit.
