Description
Cars should aim to meet/pick up around 07:45 in Munich. Google is telling me approx 1hr45 drive time. I think it would be good to meet at the trail head around 09:30.
This will be a winter hike, not really for beginners. Dress accordingly for -4 temps at the peak. At the moment there’s no avalanche report but snow is forecast over the next few days so I’ll keep an eye on it. Expect to hike in snow! Route is on the south face and it looks to be a sunny day according to MetroBlue. We should have some nice views of Heiterwangsee/Plansee from the peak, which is ofcourse what I’m chasing ;-) Bring gaiters, poles, spikes and lunch for the peak (no hut).
We plan to have dinner afterwards at a restaurant probably in Garmisch (I’ll add details) as a strategy to avoid the ski traffic heading back to Munich ;-)

I’ll create a WhatsApp group on Saturday
If the weather / conditions are bad I may cancel the hike.
What to bring:
Your best self obviously!
- Hiking shoes
-poles
- ID Card just incase
- cash for dinner as we plan to eat in Garmisch
- Enough water for the hike, lunch + snacks
- Power bank
-Sunscreen (weather is due to be sunny)
-sunglasses
- spikes
- gaiters
- layers (expect -4 at the peak)
-DAV insurance
Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide, and everybody joining this hike does so at their own risk.

If someone from Neel's car would like to swap with me, I live close to Ostbahnhof so that would be a lot easier for me :)
