2024 is treating us with amazing weather, so let's enjoy the last sunlight of 2024 together!
Meeting point and time: 10:00 Brunni SZ, Rest. Brunni
Getting there
- By public transport: Bus station at start point: Brunni SZ, Rest. Brunni (Train 8:43 from Zurich HB, 9:51 at Brunni SZ, Rest. Brunni)
- By car: Navigate using Google maps to Brunni SZ, Rest. Brunni. (Parking for the day 5 CHF.)
Getting back
- By public transport: bus 15:31 every hour.
What to take: snowshoes, snowgaters, warm enough clothes (layers), food, drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses.
Schedule
- 10:00-10:15 Introduction round
- 10:15-11:30 Walk 2.5km 450 elevation to Furggelen
- 11:30-11:45 Enjoy some sunshine (and/or a drink https://www.sac-einsiedeln.ch/huetten/furggelenhuette.php)
- 11:45-12:00 Hike 1km 150m elevation up to Furggelenstock
- 12:00-12:30 lunch & group picture
- 12:30-13:00 Hike 1.5km to Brunnistock
- 13:00-13:30 more group pictures & second lunch!
- 13:30-14:45 hike 3 km to the top of the cable car
- 14:45-15:45 hike 2.5km down to Brunni
- bus at 15:31 or 16:31
- 19:00 dinner @ hiking buddies. info at https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/events/10713/
- 23:30 meet up at Bellevue Zuri for fireworks. info at https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/events/10713/
(Apparently you can't sign up for two events on one day, so please sign up on the hike event, and not the social event if joining both!)
Pace: Moderate pace.
Grade: Snowshoeing, physically demanding, not dangerous.

Hey all! The snow might be packed enough so that you don't need snow shoes. However, it might also be so packed it has turned into ice. So if you leave your snowshoes home, bring spikes. See you tomorrow!
