Dear hiking buddies.

We want to go sledging again.

In Grindelwald there is the longest sledge ride of Switzerland, according to the web page even the longest in the world: https://www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/schlitteln/laengste-schlittelabfahrt-der-welt/ .

Activities in winter are always depending on the weather.

If there is a snow storm or avalanche risk we have to cancel.

Important information:

In order to join you have to bring a sledge or rent one at Grindelwald First.

They have plenty, but i suggest to make a reservation.

Sledges rented can normally be returned in the village of Grindelwald.

Prices:

Sledging pass for cable car: CHF 61 (cheaper with halbtax)

Sledge rental: around CHF 20 per day

Time frame:

Please not that this is not 100% accurate, but an overall plan how we are planning to do it.

10:00 meet and take the cable car up.

10:20 get the sledges

10:30 start walking

13:00 start sledging at Faulhorn

14:30 take the cable car up again

15:00 start sleding at Grindelwald First

16:00 take the cable car down from Bort

Hike:

The hiking part is 2,5 hours (6 Km and 550 height meters).

Sounds easier then it is, since we will be taking the sledges.

We do the number 50 from Faulhorn and then 57 to go down to Grindelwald.

Then, if we got enough time, the 51.

Picnic:

No picnic planned, bring stuff or buy at the stations.

Equipment:

Warm clothes, i suggest ski googles for the sleding.

Application:

As always there is the possibility to come by car.

Join the car pool and either create a car yourself or have a look who can take you there.

For those who come by public transport please create a "car" in the carpool with around 30 seats and use "public transport" as a description. That way others can join that one and we keep a good overview.

If that one is full, create another one with like 10 seats please.
