Description

Snowshoe trail from valley station in Kandersteg to the Oeschinensee (hiking time approx. 90 min.) and back - the winter hiking trail to Oeschinensee is only accessible with snowshoes!!! If you don't have them, you have to rent them, it is strongly recommended to book them in advance online (https://www.intersportrent.ch/de/rent-shop/products/) INTERSPORT Grossen, Äussere Dorfstrasse 83, 3718 Kandersteg


Once we will reach the lake, we will experience the magical ice walk on the frozen Oeschinensee's surface (only the brave, actual Danger level 1)

How to get there:

Journey by public transport: Zürich HB - Bern - Kandersteg

The train (IC1 to Genève-Airport) departs at 07:32 from ZH HB.


Journey by car: Use gps. 


Meeting point:
09:45 AM -  Kandersteg Bahnhof

Hike:
  • The hike will last ca. 4-5 hours with a lot of viewpoints and snow.
  • Lunch break at Oeschinensee.
  • The pace will be slow/medium with enough time to admire the landscape.
  • If you want to shorten the hike, you can take the gondola down.


Equipment:

  • Proper warm hiking boots, poles, snowshoes (mandatory!), snacks, enough water, proper (warm) clothes acc. to the weather, sunscreen, good mood and fitness.

  • The organizer is no professional guide. Participants are responsible for themselves, must do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves (in case the groups split for some reason, for example).
  • Out of respect for the others, please be on time. If you happen to be late, contact the organizer.
  • If you have a No Show in your profile (= you did not show up to a hike you signed up to in the past), I may exclude you from the event.
  • Unjoining allowed until 12 hours before the start of the event. If you are unable to be join for whatever reason, contact the organizer.
