This is a good opportunity to hike a well-known mountain from bottom to top and back. The pace will be 300m/h, so it should be enjoyable for hikers with normal fitness level.
This is for people who have done a few hikes of >=800m elevation - not for complete beginners.
Program:
Start at 9:00 at the Küssnacht train station.
Walk up for 4.5 hours
Eat lunch in Restaurant Lok 7 (optional - 1 hour)
Walk down for 2.5 hours
Arrive back around 17:00 to the Küssnacht train station.
There are trains from Zürich, Luzern, Basel, etc. I will come by car from Pfäffikon SZ.
I've done this once with roughly the speed indicated here (300m/h elevation), see my Komoot.
I don't mind people who are a bit slower, but we'll have to walk normally to finish this in time.
If someone is too tired, they can take a train down or even a gondola down from Seebodenalp.
Bring:
- Hiking boots
- Spikes and/or hiking poles, because it can potentially be slippery
- Your usual winter hiking clothes, especially gloves (it can be a bit cold).
- Headlamp preferrable (we may arrive back in dark)
- 1-2 liter water (we can refill at Seebodenalp or at the top)
How to join, if you don't see the Join button:
Instead of a Join button, there is a Carpool button on the right.
If you want to come by public transport, you can create a new car and name it "public transport" and join that.
