Description

Hi all,

I plan to go to Hochgern from Staudach and then down to Marquartstein. The idea is to do the track from this previous event, but in reverse. (see: https://www.hiking-buddies.com/routes/routes_list/354/,)

I create the event in case other HB would like to join. Notice that I might adapt the route on the way, depending on how we assess terrain, energy, and weather (which looks great as of the time I am creating this event).

  • Meeting point at Gl 9 in Hbf at 7:40 (or Gl 8 in München Ost). Bring your DE ticket (if you have it), else you will need to get a ticket (can arrange group tickets with others who might not have the ticket).
  • Train from Munich Hbf at 7:56 (Hbf) direction Prien, there we need to take the bus 9505 till Staudach-Egerndach Zunfthof, Grassau (Chiemgau) (see: https://www.dbregiobus-bayern.de/).
  • The bus I would like to take on the way back is at 16:25 from Marquartstein (back to Muc around 18:00. This means we might need to keep a steady pace (maybe I am too ambitious). If we miss this one, we have a back option, next bus will be at 18:30 (Back to Muc at around 20:00).
  • This is what I think is doable, please have a look and assess based on your experience (I consider small breaks in between too, time plan is an approx. reference on where I'd like to be at certain times, knowing that if the group is large, we might need to readjust):
    • Staudach - Schnappenkirche - 4.5km  +600m  1h30 -  09:30 to 11:00
    •     15 min snack break
    • Schnappenkirche - Staudache Alm - 2.0km  +100m  0h30  - 11:15 to 11:45
    • Staudacher Alm - Hochgern - 2.3km  +600m  1h30  - 11:45 to 13:15
    •     15 min break - enjoy the top
    • Hochgern - Hochgernhaus - 2.0km  -300m 0h30  - 13:30 to 14:00
    •     45 min break - if possible eat something at the hut
    • Hochgernhaus - Marquartstein - 5.0km  -900m  1h30  - 14:45 to 16:15

If you join, please, send me private message in HB with your number and I can add you to wapp group for easier communication.
