Howdy Hiking Fellas!

You know what they say: New year- new hike! So let's do that and go for the Herzogstand Heimgarten ridge in snow (not a very beginner-friendly idea)

The hike is long, there will be snow and we'll need to be careful. There might even be too much snow to complete the hike, in which case we'd turn back. Avalanche report also forecasts level 2 risk above the treeline. In case it looks bad on Sunday, we might go for something safer in that area
It will get dark and we will not be making too many breaks, only stopping to put on gaiters, spikes and short food/tea breaks so we don't get too cold.

On the way down to Ohlstadt, we will pass some creeks and I am considering jumping in if time permits.

Expected pace - ~400hm/hour ascend, 800+hm/hour or ~4-6 km/h descend.

Departure: RB66 from Hbf/Pasing to Kochel (8:05 in Pasing) + Bus9608 at 09:18
Return: RB6 at 15/16/17:25 from Ohlstadt

Good to know

Bring:

1) A good mood
2) Proper Hiking boots
3) Hiking/Trekking Poles
4) Head lamp!
5) Gaiters/spikes, gloves, whatever winter gear you need
6) DE ticket
7) Warm drinks
8) Towel (?!)

Hey all, I just wanted to check with you that you're confident about doing the ridge in snow. It's a T3 and for a few parts will be steep/you'll need your hands. So do consider that- If this is your first ever snow-hike, it might not be the best idea. But otherwise, I'm happy to have you all to take part :)
