Hello All,
Let's enjoy the sunshine and stay warm with some Glühwein. We take the train to Tegernsee, and from there there is a single bus that takes us to our starting point. If we miss this bus, we will pick another hike starting from Tegernsee or possibly hire a Taxi. I speak from experience here.
The hike it self is a social hike and we travel as a group. But you should be able to maintain a solid 300 to 400m/h pace. This isn't what I would call a beginner hike, but we will skip the T5 sections. Should be a T3 hike. Once at the Buchstein, we will warm up some Glühwein or otherwise bring out our thermos of drink of choice, and enjoy the views and sunning bathing temperatures of 0C.
From there, we make our way along the ridge, possibily picking up peaks along the way, or depending on how we feel and conditions, just bee-line it directly to Lenggries.
With the recent snow, conditions are unknown, but I have several backup plans ready to go, in case we need to adapt. If the ridge is unpassable, we can either return and catch one of the few return buses, or press thru and just exit to Kreuth.
Train RB57 to Tegernsee Pl 33, 07:29 (1h 10m)
Bus 390 to Pertisau Karwendellift, Österreich. Our stop is Tegernsee Hütte Bushst., Kreuth (37m)
Return trains are every half hour. The 18:17 return is possible (19:32 in Munich), but it could be later, so plan accordingly.
