Join us for a unique adventure at Morgenstreich, the magical opening of Basel’s famous Fasnacht (Carnival), where the city plunges into darkness and is illuminated only by the colorful lanterns of the marching cliques (carnival groups). 🎭✨

🗓 Date: 10 March

👟 Difficulty: T1, 5km, 50m up, 50m down

🚉 Meeting Point: Zürich HB – Special Train at 02:03 AM (arrival Basel at 03:27 AM)

As the clock strikes 4:00 AM, the traditional cry of "Morgestraich, vorwärts, marsch!" echoes through the streets, and the city becomes a sea of glowing lanterns, piccolos, and drums. 🥁🎨

We'll walk together through the charming old town streets, soaking up the unique atmosphere of Basel’s most cherished event. In the early morning, we'll warm up with a local Fasnacht classic: Mehlsuppe (flour soup) and a hot Schoggi (hot chocolate) or coffee. ☕🍲
