Cross-Country Skiing in Melchsee-Frutt ✨🏇⛷️ 

🌍 As temperatures keep rising, we’re heading a little higher into the mountains for cross-country skiing! This time, we’ll enjoy the fresh mountain air and stunning alpine scenery of Melchsee-Frutt at 1900m—where the snow is still holding up (for now 😉).

✨ Event Overview

Join us for an amazing cross-country skiing adventure in Melchsee-Frutt, a beautiful high-altitude plateau surrounded by snow-covered peaks and frozen lakes. Whether you're a total beginner or an experienced skier, there are trails suited for all levels. Take in the serene winter landscape as you ski along perfectly groomed tracks with spectacular views!

Besides skiing, the area also offers winter hiking, sledging, and a cozy alpine atmosphere—so there’s something for everyone!

By Train:

🚆 Train from Zurich to Sarnen:

• IR70 direction Luzern (07:10 Zurich HB - 07:51 Luzern)
• S5 direction Giswil (08:12 Luzern - 08:38 Sarnen)
• Bus B343 direction Stöckalp (08:44 Sarnen, Bahnhof - 09:18 Stöckalp)
• Gondola GB 2545 (09:19 Stöckalp Talstation - 09:39 Melchsee-Frutt Bergstation)
• If joining by train, sign up for my fictitious train-car 😉

By Car:

🚗 If you're driving, we can meet at Stöckalp Talstation or directly at Melchsee-Frutt Bergstation.

⛷️ Ski Trails

There are two fantastic trails available:

🥇 Beginner-friendly trail (2 km): A flat, scenic route next to the frozen Melchsee—perfect for those new to cross-country skiing! (See route)

🥈 Longer circular route (12 km): A breathtaking ski tour from Melchsee-Frutt to Tannalp, offering stunning panoramic views and a rewarding challenge. (See route)

🏔️ Bonus: Before skiing, take the Panorama Lift (Location) to admire the majestic winter landscape from above!

🍽️ Lunch & Break Options

Skiing burns calories—so refueling is essential! We can decide together where to stop for lunch:

🍏 Bring your own picnic! We can also meet later for coffee, hot chocolate, or cake.

💵 Daily loipe ticket: CHF 8, available also online through the app langlauf.ch (Info)

🚿 Changing Rooms & Lockers

Changing rooms and showers are available at the old mountain station (school ski office), which should be located near the Frutt Rental shop. When you arrive at the mountain station, turn right and proceed through the turnstile. You will see a sign "old mountain station."

However, it is not clear if it is possible to leave belongings here as I haven’t found any lockers in the area. Please consider the possibility of carrying your stuff during the activity. (More Info)
