Hello, dear hiking buddies!
This is my suggestion for a hike on Sunday, 9. March to Mont Raimeux. (day has been set)
When? - Sunday, 9th March
Where? - Moutier / Mont Raimeux, more precisely "Corcelles BE" and "Grandval"
What? - Regular hiking, SAC level T2, ca. 12 km, 4-5 h without breaks, official route 424
How is the route? - Starting in Corcelles, we ascend a gorge to the plateau, traverse north-west to Mont Raimeux, take break there and then traverse south-west through another gorge to descend to Grandval. - No high bridges on the way. And it is mostly in the forest.
How to travel? - Public transport (train, bus). From Zurich: ICE 5, platform 32, departure 8:04, meeting 7:50 o'clock in sector B, next to the staircase. Go and return via Moutier, so a day-ticket is an option.
How much does it cost? - The tickets (from Zurich) are ~ 30 CHF each trip, so ~ 60 CHF in total. Maybe 10-15 CHF for a coffee on top. No further costs are expected.
What to consider? - a) Half of the route (both up and down) is quite steep, so bring hiking poles. b) The two stations can only be reached by substitute bus due to construction, so take care of the timetable! c) Always stay with the group and give a shout if you fall behind or need a break! d) Bring enough provisions (water, snacks) for the whole day. Or buy at the restaurants én route.
