Steeped in legend, Oberblegisee counts among Switzerland's most beautiful mountain lakes
The weather is promised to be partially sunny on Saturday, so I would like to take advantage of it and hike up to the Oberblegisee (Ct. GL).
There will be some snow on the top (btw. 20-50 cm, the lake is located at 1'450m), the snow limit will be at ca. 1'000-1'100m.
Start at Luchsingen-Hätzingen SBB train station at 09:10 am. The direct train S25 departs from Zürich HB at 07:43 and arrives at 09:06 am.
On the way back to the starting point (Luchsingen) I will follow a bit different route, which for unknown reasons I could not import in the platform, anyway it's an unsignificant variant:
In alternative it is possible to walk to Braunwald and take the funicular to Linthal, but real hiking buddies don't do it (joking, of course).
Difficulty: I guess T2/T3, the system indicates T1 but I can't trust it.
Pace: ~350-400 uphill meters per hour. We should reach the Oberblegisee by around 12:00 to 1pm, enjoy the beautiful views and have lunch nearby.
Meeting point: Luchsingen-Hätzingen train station at 09:10 am (that's when S25 train arrives from Zürich).
Recommended gear: waterproof hiking shoes/boots; warm clothes; sunscreen; hiking poles; spikes with gaiters (optional, I will bring them); snowshoes (optional).
