Description

Weather on the northern side of the alps looked rainy or generally "un-nice". But on the south: 🌞

So, let's visit Ticino, how about it? 🙂

As usual, I would like to go to a restaurant after the hike. If anyone has suggestions for something nice in Locarno — I'm all ears!

Due to the distance, duration & pace, this is NOT (totally) suitable for beginners!

Copying the description of the route, to make it easier:

When planning the route, I started with

74 - Stage 2: Sentiero Verzasca

Stage 2: Lavertezzo – Locarno

=> https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-74/stage-2

  • → 21 km
  • ↗ 1’100 m
  • ↘ 1’450 m
  • ⏱️ 7 h 10 min

And that was "obviously" too short and easy. So I added parts of the following to it:

629: Sentiero etnografico Revöira

Lavertezzo – Sambugaro–Revöira–Motta – Lavertezzo

=> https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-629

  • → 4 km
  • ↗ 330 m
  • ↘ 410 m
  • ⏱️ 2 h 10 min

Total:

  • → 25 km
  • ↗ 1'430 m
  • ↘ 1'860 m
  • ⏱️ 8 h 58 min

According to SchweizMobil, at least. I'm sure the actual time will be quite a bit shorter. Make sure to consider this.

Additional notes – we'll have a short break somewhere along the way. So, although the actual "movement" starts pretty late, make sure to get a bite to eat.
