T4 hike with approx 1600m elevation gain + BBQ
Spring is here! Let's get those leg muscles a good workout!
Rophaien has an amazing view over the lake, and with so much sunshine good views are guaranteed!
After the hike, let's have a BBQ at my place. (Bring and share or everyone twint to the people doing groceries, let's discuss in WhatsApp!)
Getting back (if skipping BBQ)
What to take: hiking equipment warm enough (it's sunny, but not yet very warm), proper shoes (hiking boots or trail running shoes), food, enough water, sunscreen, sunglasses, tick spray, rain jacket.
snow spikes. There might still be some snow on the top. So bring snow spikes just in case! If there is too much snow, we'll just turn back and make a group picture somewhere under the top!
Pace: The plan is to have a (moderate) pace of 400 elevation gain per hour (including breaks).
If you want to cut off 500 elevation, you can take the cable car to Oberaxen and join up with us halfway on the climb. If you want to spare your knees on the way down, you could take the cable car on the way down. The cable car runs from 8:00-19:00
Schedule
Grade: T4, which means: exposed terrain, path not necessarily available and sometimes need to use hands to keep going. (We will not continue if there is snow on the T4 part and turn back.)
BBQ: We'll have a BBQ at my place (in Seedorf, Uri) afterwards for the people who want to join! Details and organization in Whatsapp
