Description

This is a 2 days easy hike. We leave mid-day on 1st of May and hike up a very easy path to Rotwandhaus. 

We can decide around which time we leave from Munich, but I put the time as 15:28     14:28 (we must reach the Hut before kitchen closing time) for now. If we are  5 or less participants, we can drive to the spot and save some time.

On 2nd of May we hike down , either the same way or through an alternative way. One can individually decide to stay a bit longer up there if they want.

In my opinion, both routes are decently easy but I expect joinees to have some hiking experience.

We take the BRB RB55 from Munich hauptbahnhof + Bus. Meeting point is Platform 34

if the weather turns bad, I would need to cancel the hike. But of course others can go ahead with the hike if they want (the route is super simple)

We each are responsible for our own Hut Booking and Cancellation. DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional guide and I cannot be held responsible for unforeseeable unmitigable circumstances

  • This hike is planned with an overnight stay at the Rotwandhaus.
  • The joinees should make their overnight stay reservations with the Rotwandhaus directly 
  • Here is the website to make the reservation . https://www.rotwandhaus.de/uebernachten. If you need any help or information, write me a message
  • Usual expenses at the Hut are: Stay + food + breakfast + drinks (They don't appreciate if we bring our own food and eat there, understandably. Of course when we are outside, we can eat and drink our own stuff). One can opt to not buy breakfast there and just bring something to eat.
  • Things you need to stay at the Hut
    • A reservation confirmation
    • Hüttenschlafsack
    • kissenbezug  (optional)
    • Bargeld (maybe they take card, I don't know)
    • Optional stuff (any thing you need to make yourself comfortable for the night, your toiletries, ear plugs etc.
    • Optional ( headlamp, if you like to walk around in the dark)
    • Optional (some food for the next day morning if you don't buy breakfast at the hut)

In Addition

  • The joinees should organize their own Public Transport ticket. Usually most people already have a Deutschland Ticket
  • Optional (DAV membership for insurance purposes)
